Lesotho is a land-locked country, completely surrounded by its neighbour South Africa; its territory is mostly highland with its lowest point sitting at 1,400 m above sea level; it has a number of assets on which a flourishing, albeit small, tourism industry can be built.

Recently, Keios has successfully completed the preparation of the National Tourism Master Plan for Lesotho. The assignment has been carried out in the framework of the Lesotho Economic Diversification Support Project, funded by the African Development Bank.

We have developed a full set of planning documents, including a revised legal framework (National Tourism Policy and Tourism Act), the National Tourism Master Plan, six Tourism Development Area Plans and an overall action plan for effective implementation.

We hope that the plans we have developed will soon become reality, for the development of a responsible tourism industry that will benefit all people of Lesotho.
