In 2017, Keios was awarded the consultancy for the preparation of the National Tourism Master Plan of Lesotho, in the framework of the Economic Diversification Support Project funded by the African Development Bank.
Lesotho is the only country in the world with all its territory above 1,000 meters. Over the geological eras, the dramatic landscapes have been shaped by the opposite phenomena of tectonic uplift and erosion, creating the scenery of deep river valleys, waterfalls, rolling hills and green mountains.
The overall objective of the consultancy is to strengthen the national tourism policy and legal framework and to enhance destination planning and management.
The activities will include the assessment of the tourism potential of Lesotho, currently underway, the preparation of a revised legal framework, including the National Tourism Policy and Tourism Act, the preparation of the National Tourism Master Plan that will be completed by Tourism Area Development Plans and an overall action plan for effective implementation.
