On 18th January our team led by Peter Nizette attended the kick-off meeting for the consulting services for the Development of New Sustainable Tourism Destinations in Selected Regions of Uzbekistan.

The Government of Uzbekistan was represented by Mr. Ulugbek Azamov (First Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports), Mr. Feruz Dodiev (Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Minister of Tourism and Sports and Mr. Gafur Atakhnov (of the Project Implementation Unit).

The joint venture led by Keios (Italy) with The Journey (South Africa) and CBM (Uzbekistan) has been hired for this consultancy by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade in the framework of the Medium-Size Cities Integrated Urban Development Project, funded by the World Bank.

The project will deliver a preparatory work for implementation of integrated approach for the development of new selected tourism destinations in Fergana Valley, Bukhara, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya.
